The House of Riya

Not just a house. A feeling.

She didn't want a perfect house.
She wanted a place that felt like her.

A place for childhood memories.

A place for adulthood.

A place for music.

A place for books.

A place for faith.

A place for quiet mornings.

A place for people to stay a little longer.

16 — Her

And then, there is her.

Riya as a baby
Where it began
Riya as a toddler with her sibling
Learning to stand

Because the house was never really about the walls.

Riya, a mirror portrait
Becoming herself
Riya at the Krishna temple in Ahmedabad
Carrying her faith with her
Riya dressed up for a celebration
Dressed for joy
A quiet close-up portrait of Riya
A quiet kind of beautiful
Riya, unhurried
Unhurried
Riya making a heart shape with her hands in the snow
A heart, even in the snow
Riya, playful and unafraid
Not afraid of anything
Riya on an ordinary evening
Warm, even on ordinary days
Riya, playful with a heart filter
Playful, always
Riya after a haircut, starting fresh
A new chapter
Riya today, smiling
Right now

Who she is

The strongest kind of soft.

She is the strongest person many people will ever know — not because nothing hurts her, but because she carries what hurts without asking anyone to carry it with her. She has a self-respect she has never once traded away, and some nights, alone, she breaks quietly and tells no one. What she hands the world instead is her smile, her gratitude, her achievements. Her tears, she keeps. Her joy, she gives away freely.

And she builds anyway. Whatever she wants, she earns herself — her own car, bought with her own money, is proof enough. Whatever there is to learn, she is the first to raise her hand, never waiting for permission to become more of who she already is.

Childlike and entirely grown, playful and wise in the very same breath — if this house has a foundation, it isn't the walls. It's her.

The mountain girl

She was born to fly.

Somewhere in the mountains, she stops performing and just becomes herself — a little bit of a bird, wind in her hair, arms out like she could take off any second. It was never really about the height. It's about finding the one place she doesn't have to fight to be understood — just held.

She carries her devotion to माधव the same way she carries everything that matters to her most — quietly, completely, without needing anyone to see it. It's where her determination comes from: the same faith that tells her it's alright to dream this big.

Her roots

Before her, there was them.

Every home starts long before its walls do. Hers started with two people who loved without needing to be asked, who built something out of very little and made it feel like everything, and who gave her a childhood steady enough to dream from.

Whatever warmth lives in this house, she learned it first from them.

A final view of the home at golden hour

The House of Riya

Her little dreamland.

“Yes. Finally. I'm home.”
